Shipping Policy
Ordering and Delivery Times:
- Sod Orders: To ensure next-day delivery, please place your sod order by 3:00 PM the day prior. While we will try our best to accommodate later orders, timely submission helps us guarantee prompt delivery.
- Bagged Product Deliveries: Bagged products (soil, mulch, etc.) are scheduled according to your zone’s designated delivery day. We will attempt to accommodate requests for delivery on alternative days, particularly for large orders.
- Delivery Time Estimates: While we strive to provide estimated delivery times, please note that sod harvesting and delivery schedules can be impacted by weather conditions, traffic, and site accessibility. Therefore, delivery times are not guaranteed. Larger orders (such as 10 skids or more) will be prioritized.
Delivery Location and Access:
- Curbside Delivery: Our standard delivery is curbside. Installers and homeowners are responsible for ensuring that the delivery area is accessible for a tractor-trailer, to enter and exit the neighbourhood and there is sufficient space for a 9-ft forklift to place the product curbside.
- Alternative Delivery Locations: If you require delivery to a location other than the curb, please clearly mark the desired location. We will accommodate such requests whenever possible.
- Backyard Access: Deliveries to backyards require alley access with adequate space for our trucks to park nearby.
- Property Access Restrictions: Fairgreen drivers will not drive on private property that does not belong to the delivery address. This includes driving between homes, unless there is a minimum 9-foot-wide access belonging to the property receiving the delivery. Products cannot be lifted over a fence or placed inside a garage due to forklift limitations.
- Ground Conditions: The ground at the delivery site must be firm enough to support the weight of the product and equipment, including a forklift. Please be aware that wet weather can soften lawns, potentially leading to ruts and tire marks from the forklift. Driveways may also be susceptible to tire marks.
Liability:
- Damage to Property: Fairgreen is not responsible for any damage to landscaping or driveways if the installer or homeowner specifically requests delivery to a location other than the curbside.
- Unattended Deliveries: Fairgreen is not responsible for products left unattended at the delivery site.
Other Important Information:
- Product Verification: Upon delivery, please verify that all ordered products have been received. Discrepancies between the invoice and delivered products must be reported to Fairgreen the same day. Due to the perishable nature of sod, concerns must be addressed promptly. After hours, you can leave a voice message or email details and photos to [email protected].
- City Bylaws: City bylaws prohibit placing products on sidewalks or streets. If products are temporarily placed in these areas for delivery, the customer must move them immediately.
- Customer Presence: Customers are not required to be present at the time of delivery. Our drivers will not make advance phone calls prior to delivery.
